July 16 - day off in Winona

We've had only three days of riding, but this day off had been planned early in the trip.  This made it possible for the group to see the city voted by BAA (Bicycle Across America) as number one.  Low mileage, only 9, after exploring the city.

I was here three years ago on our cross country trip so I tried to do different things. In the morning we rode our bikes to the art museum to see their new exhibit, Valor in Marine art. On the ride I loved seeing the wild flowers and houseboats on the Mississippi. Yesterday we went over this bridge on the Upper Mississippi and I was actually terrified during the descent.
