July 16 - On the way to Jonquiere

Everyone started early to begin our 72 mile ride. The plan was to arrive in Peribonka to cross Lac Saint-John by ferry.  However, we arrived in Peribonka by 8:30 and discovered the ferry did not leave until 10.  The group did not want to hang around that long. We unanimously choose the second option - to circle the lake on bike and enter the National Park via the Blueberry Loop. The 15 additional miles increased the total to 87. The crossing on bike was well worth the extra miles.

The picturesque photo on the bridge across Lac Saint-John shows the four riders on the Canada tour from the D.C. metropolitan area.  Ziva and I met Margaret and Al when cycling with the Wednesday Irregulars and encouraged them to join us.
