August 3 - Lock 33 and Pittsfort, NY

I was fascinated with the locks on the Eric Canal even though I had seen this operation before on the C&O canal in Maryland.  I waited patiently to see the approaching tugboat and cruiser go through the locks.

Half way through our ride we stopped at Pittsford to refuel with lunch and visit the Towpath Bike store. Many of our group purchased new tires and inner tubes after the fiasco yesterday. Even today our group had six flats. I'm not so sure about how well the roads are taken care of in this region!
